Terms of Service

These terms govern use of Smoke Test and its automated security-testing service.

Last updated: September 7, 2026

1. Authority and permitted use

You may register and test only systems you own or systems for which you have explicit permission to authorize security testing. You represent that your authorization covers the target URL, host, application, and network services submitted to Smoke Test.

You must not use Smoke Test to test third-party systems without permission, evade access controls, disrupt services, collect unrelated personal data, or conduct unlawful activity.

2. Testing activity and risk

Smoke Test performs automated discovery, port checks, crawling, passive analysis, authenticated testing when configured, and active vulnerability probes. Active testing can create load, submit forms, change test data, trigger alerts, or affect availability. You are responsible for backups, maintenance windows, test accounts, and internal approvals.

Smoke Test excludes deliberate denial-of-service, destructive exploitation, social engineering, and persistence. You may contact admin@smoketest.pro before activation to request additional exclusions.

3. Scope and results

Testing is limited to the registered target and the same-host application paths discovered during a scan. Results are point-in-time evidence, may contain false positives or false negatives, and do not guarantee that a system is secure or compliant.

You are responsible for reviewing findings, deciding remediation, protecting reports, and obtaining any separate attestation required by an auditor, insurer, regulator, or customer.

4. Accounts, billing, and cancellation

Subscriptions are billed per registered site through Stripe at the price shown during checkout. The Continuous plan is billed monthly with a three-month initial commitment and becomes month-to-month afterward. The Human Reviewed plan is billed annually and includes one analyst-reviewed assessment per subscription year. Payment methods may be updated during a commitment period; cancellation takes effect after the applicable minimum term or paid annual period.

Human review covers the documented scope, evidence, classification, and remediation guidance for one selected completed full assessment. It does not create a guarantee of security, certify compliance, or include unlimited manual testing.

5. Confidentiality and data

We treat target configuration, credentials, scan evidence, and reports as confidential. Our Privacy Notice and Data Processing Addendum describe handling of personal data. You must provide only credentials and test data needed for the service.

6. Warranty and liability

The service is provided as available. To the extent permitted by law, Smoke Test disclaims implied warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Aggregate liability arising from the service is limited to fees paid for the affected site during the preceding twelve months. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

7. Changes and contact

We may update these terms prospectively and will post the revised date here. Questions, security concerns, and scope requests may be sent to admin@smoketest.pro.
